In the fall of 2007 Allied in Pride collaborated with a coalition of other GWU student organizations in order to bring a resource center to campus specifically targeting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students.We envisioned a center that would provide LGBTQ students with a single point of contact when dealing with the myriad issues that may arise for LGBTQ students at GWU, including arrangement of scholarships, dealing with housing issues, working with students in their LGBTQ-related academic endeavors, provide support to LGBTQ students traveling abroad, and a host of other areas of concern.

The LGBT Resource Center was established in the fall of 2008, and is located within the Student Activities Center. Allied in Pride works with the Resource Center, along with other departments, to meet the needs of the GW LGBT community.
