(1) the current state of the law on marriage and relationship recognition in the states and on the federal level
(2) current state legislative and litigation efforts on marriage equality, including recent setbacks in Maine, New Jersey, New York and Hawaii and current and forthcoming cases (the Prop 8 challenge in California, a federal Defense of Marriage Act challenge in Massachusetts, and upcoming marriage cases in Hawaii and New Jersey)
